Canada Express Entry 2022: Eligibility, Documents, Cost & More

What is Canada PR Express Entry?

With the Canada Express Entry Program, your application is evaluated based on the points you obtain to become a permanent resident. You are given points based on age, education, employment history, etc. The program is top-rated among professionals relocating to Canada.

This system is made up of three programs, each of which is designed for a specific group of people.

Types of Canada PR Programs

As previously stated, this program is quite popular. Nevertheless, this program may not be the one for you if you have a low IELTS score or any other issue. In this scenario, you can look into other immigration programmes and select the one best for you. With over 60 programs to pick from in Canada, things may become difficult for you. Therefore, we recommend that you seek professional guidance in this regard.

The following are some of the most popular Canadian immigration programs.

Eligibility To Apply For PR Express Entry

The eligibility criteria for the three Express Entry programs differ slightly, but we will give you an overview of what is required to be qualified for this method.

  1. Language Requirements: You must have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 in all three components, comparable to CLB 7. However, a lower score may be acceptable if you are applying under the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) or hold a job at NOC level B.
  1. Education: If you are applying through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), the IRCC will not request your educational records. However, submitting your educational documents if you’re going through the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP) can get you some extra points and help your application.
  1. Work Experience: You are eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program if you have work experience at NOC levels 0, A, or B in Canada. But if you have work experience in any other country, you are eligible only for the other two programs. For Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) programs, one year of experience is required, whereas two years are needed if you want to apply for the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

Minimum Points for Express Entry into Canada

In addition to these qualifications, one must also meet the Express Entry Program’s minimum point requirement of 67 out of 100, and the IRCC selects successful applicants using the same points.

Five ways to improve your CRS Score for Canada Express Entry

The highest CRS score that can be obtained is 1200. Since their candidacy rests on these points, applicants must do their utmost to achieve the highest possible score. Here are a few pointers to help you maximize your CRS score.

  1. Even after entering the pool, you should seek to enhance your educational profile if possible. This can boost your profile, earn you some extra CRS points, and give you an edge in your profile.
  1. Additionally, you receive points for your language skills, so the higher your test score, the better it will be for your profile. Therefore, concentrate on your language exams; give it all on test day, and repeat the exam if you believe there is room for improvement.
  1. Instead of submitting only your highest degree for ECA, submit all of your degrees that can benefit your profile. This is because some degrees may earn you more points than others.
  1. Obtaining a provincial nomination is the best thing you can do for your profile because it can raise you by 600 points. However, to qualify for provincial programs, you must meet their unique standards.
  1. Not all programmes require it, but having a job offer boosts your profile tremendously. A job offer improves your shape, gives you some bonus points and gives your profile more credibility.

Costs Involved in Canada PR

The application fee for a single applicant is 1365 CAD, which also includes the 515 CAD right to permanent residence fee. You only need to pay twice as much if you apply jointly with your spouse, and you must pay an additional 230 CAD for each dependent child.

Proof of funds for Canada Express Entry

Candidates for the PR under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and those with a work visa and a job offer in Canada are exempt from providing proof of financial resources. If you are applying under the FSWP or FSWT and do not have a work offer, you must provide evidence of funds for 13310 CAD for single applicants and an extra 3586 CAD per head if you have a spouse, dependent children or any company.
